Who is responsible
Color My Walk is run by Innoveramera Sverige AB, a Swedish company, which is the data controller for the information described here.
What we process
We only store what the app needs to work.
- Account: your email address, and your name if you sign in with Google or Apple.
- Walks: the GPS track of each walk you save, with its time, length and duration.
- Location while in use: when you draw a walk, its starting point is sent to our server. During a walk the app reads your location, also with the screen off, to guide you and paint the streets. The location only leaves your phone when the walk is saved.
- Subscription: if you pay, we learn that you have a subscription and when it renews. Card details are handled by the payment provider and never reach us.
- Poster orders: which walks, the title, size, price and status. The name, address, email and phone for delivery you enter in Stripe's checkout. They are passed from there to Gelato so the poster can be sent, and are not stored by us.
- Technical logs: our hosting provider logs requests to the server, such as IP address and time, for a limited period.
Apple Health and Health Connect
If you turn it on in the app, each walk is saved as a walking workout in Apple Health on an iPhone, or in Health Connect on Android: when it was, the distance, an estimate of the calories and the route. It is saved only on your phone, in the service you chose, and is not sent to us.
The app reads nothing from Health or Health Connect, and nothing from them is ever used for advertising or passed to anyone else. You turn it off in the app's settings and remove the permission in the Health app or Health Connect.
Why we process it
To deliver the service you asked for: drawing walks along streets you haven't walked, saving your map and keeping it in sync between your devices. The legal basis is our contract with you.
We use logs for operations and security, based on legitimate interest. Payment records are kept for as long as Swedish accounting law requires.
We show no ads, sell no data and don't track you across other apps or websites.
Who receives the data
We use these providers to run the service:
- Google Firebase: sign-in and storage of accounts and walks, on servers in the EU.
- Vercel: hosting of our server and website.
- Apple and Google: payments and subscriptions in the app.
- Stripe: payment for posters, and the delivery address you enter at checkout.
- Gelato: printing and delivering posters, with the address they need for that.
- RevenueCat: keeps track of purchases made in the app, linked to your user ID.
- OpenStreetMap services: street data and place names are fetched for the area you walk in. The request contains a map area, not who you are.
- OpenFreeMap: the map images shown in the app.
Transfers outside the EU
Some of the providers are US companies. Where data is transferred to the US, it is covered by the European Commission's standard contractual clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
Your account and walks are kept until you delete the account, and are then removed at once. Accounting records of payments are kept for seven years, as the law requires.
A poster's pictures are removed after a day if it is never paid for. The print file is removed two weeks after the poster has shipped. If you delete your account the pictures are removed, and the order is kept only with its product, price and status, for bookkeeping.
Your rights
You have the right to know what data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to receive it in a common format and to object to processing. You can delete your account and walks yourself in the app, under your profile.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection, imy.se, or to the authority in your own country.
